About the workshop
Look, observe, paint - and develop your own interpretation.
Explore still life through observation, composition, colour and tone. Working from arranged subjects, we'll consider shape, proportion, light and shadow, and how to turn what you see into an engaging painting.
You'll have the opportunity to experiment with colour, brushwork and texture while learning to simplify and interpret your subject. With demonstrations and individual guidance, you'll develop your painting in your own way.
You'll explore
Composition, proportion, colour mixing, tone, light, shadow and mark-making.
The course
My five-week acrylic painting courses offer the opportunity to focus on a particular subject over five consecutive sessions. With demonstrations, practical guidance and individual tuition throughout, you'll have time to experiment, build confidence and take your painting further.
My approach is to help each person develop from the stage they are at. Whether you want to improve your technique, explore new ways of working or discover your own interpretation of a subject, I'll offer guidance tailored to your individual needs.
You won't be expected to paint in the same way as everyone else. I encourage you to develop your own ideas, make your own choices and discover what works for you.
Five consecutive Wednesday afternoons, 1.30 - 4.30, booked as one course: £190 for the five sessions.
