About the workshop
A relaxed introduction to painting with acrylics - no previous experience needed.
If you've always wanted to try acrylic painting but aren't sure where to start, this three-hour session is designed to give you a friendly and enjoyable introduction.
I'll guide you through the basics, from setting up your workspace and choosing colours to handling your paint and getting started on a painting.
We'll begin with a short demonstration, including how to approach the first stages of a painting, and I'll show you some simple techniques to help you feel confident getting started.
You'll then choose from a selection of seascape and landscape subjects and create your own painting, with individual guidance and encouragement from me throughout the session.
We'll also look at practical things that can make painting more comfortable and enjoyable, including how to set up your workspace, whether you are right- or left-handed, working upright, and making your own simple stay-wet palette.
During the session you'll
- Learn how to set up your painting space comfortably
- Discover how to work with a limited selection of acrylic colours
- See a demonstration of how to begin a painting
- Choose your own seascape or landscape subject
- Learn some basic acrylic painting techniques
- Create your own painting during the session
- Receive individual guidance throughout
No previous painting experience is necessary - just come along and enjoy painting.
